Growing up, our home was filled with the ancient practices of Ayurveda. Our mother raised us with turmeric tonics, guided us through the art of breathing, and taught us to maintain our hair and skin using botanical extracts and oils. However, as we stepped out into the world, Ayurveda faded into the background, dismissed as an exotic, distant tradition.

We fell prey to the frenzied pace of the Western lifestyle, succumbing to the temptations of fast food and stressful coping mechanisms. Yet, the seeds of Ayurveda continued to take root within us, and we found ourselves yearning for the natural approach to health that we had known in our childhood home.

As we entered adulthood, we noticed a shift in the zeitgeist. Ayurvedic practices like intermittent fasting, tongue scraping, seasonal eating, yoga, breathwork, gut health maintenance, and herbal skincare gained widespread popularity. Even the turmeric latte that we had grown up with, known as 'haldi doodh', began to appear on menus around the U.S.

This movement towards a more holistic way of living is not just a trend -- it is Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is the world's oldest health and wellness system. Rooted in 5,000 years of wisdom and backed by an increasingly growing body of scientific research, it offers a structured approach to personalized well-being, bringing balance to mind and body. In fact, Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word that directly translates to "Ayur" (life) and "Veda" (science) – the 'Science of Life.'

We founded KÖPPEN with a mission to celebrate this ancient yet timeless approach to living. We are starting with products like the Copper Tongue Scraper that align with the fundamental Ayurvedic practice of 'dinacharya' (a daily routine), enabling our community to create easy, healthy routines that fit into their modern lifestyles.
